Horage Tourbillon 2 – Price, Design & Features

Horage Tourbillon 2 Review

Horage may not be a household name yet, but it’s quickly making waves in the watch industry. In 2014, after seven years of meticulous development, Horage, along with its affiliated companies, unveiled the automatic K1 movement. This modern, versatile, and aesthetically pleasing caliber boasts a silicon escapement and an impressive 65-hour power reserve. Shortly thereafter, they introduced the K2 micro-rotor movement. However, it was their foray into the world of the tourbillon regulator that truly set them apart. Now, they are entering the second phase of this journey with the Horage Tourbillon 2.

The Horage Tourbillon 2 Overview

Today, Horage proudly presents the Tourbillon 2, a project that has been significantly influenced by the brand’s vibrant community. This endeavor aims to showcase the K-TOU caliber in a fresh and distinctive light, offering a variety of dials, materials, and attractive pricing options.

The new Horage Tourbillon 2 maintains its familiar 41mm diameter case, making it instantly recognizable to those who own the first edition. This time, it’s available in three exquisite variations: 904L stainless steel, 18k 3N yellow gold, and 18k white gold. The Tourbillon 2 proudly features Grand Feu enamel dials for the precious metal cases, while the steel version sports the original blue dial adorned with a unique pattern.

The Grand Feu dial of the Tourbillon 2 offers an almost flawlessly uniform white surface, creating a stunning contrast with the blued hands and distinctive black Arabic numerals. Positioned near the hour indices, you’ll notice tiny symbols, resembling unusual zodiac signs. At the 2 o’clock position, a power reserve indicator awaits, reminding you when it’s time for winding. This indicator ensures timely winding and underscores the impressive 5-day continuous running capacity of this timepiece.

Turning our attention to the steel Horage Tourbillon 2, its blue dial retains the same layout but introduces a distinct color palette. White markings contrast vividly against the rich blue background, and the hands are elegantly polished steel. Paired with a stainless steel bracelet featuring a butterfly clasp, this version exudes a modern and slightly sporty vibe, complemented by its impressive 100m water resistance. A stainless steel variant with the Grand Feu enamel dial is also available, as well as the blue Livre de Durrow dial with gold-cased references.

The titanium-caged tourbillon takes center stage at the base of the dial, encircled by a railway-like ring that aids in time tracking. This 60-second tourbillon completes a full 360-degree rotation and incorporates a blued screw, serving as a second indicator. The white and yellow gold versions of the Tourbillon 2 come with black patterned salmon skin leather straps, secured with either a matching gold or stainless steel and micro-fiber carbon composite clasp featuring a 7mm micro-adjustment system.

All variants of the new Horage Tourbillon 2 are powered by the K-TOU movement, enhanced with a power reserve complication, ensuring precise timekeeping that meets chronometer standards of -4/+6 seconds per day. This efficient caliber boasts a remarkable 5-day power reserve from a single barrel, operates at 25,200 vibrations/hour (3.5Hz frequency) and features an astonishingly lightweight titanium tourbillon cage, weighing just 0.29 grams.

The sapphire caseback offers a generous view of the movement, showcasing Horage’s signature grid structure, treated with black PVD and brushing. Beyond the power reserve indicator and refinements to specific components, the updated K-TOU tourbillon caliber incorporates a silicon mainspring, pallet fork, and escape wheel, setting it apart from earlier Tourbillon 1 models that relied on conventional mainsprings.
